About Us

Journeylane Clothing is an online women’s clothing retailer providing unique and size-inclusive clothing options for women from all walks of life. Journeylane Clothing’s mission is to provide a welcoming community for women who feel empowered through rediscovering their style leading to increased confidence. 

Founded by Shania Smith in 2023, Journeylane Clothing was inspired by Smith’s struggles with weight gain and the judgment she faced when building her new wardrobe. After gaining 67 pounds during her first pregnancy, her postpartum journey included completely rebuilding her wardrobe. Wanting to go to her favorite pre-pregnancy stores and find the same clothes, just in bigger sizes, she was shocked to find out stores didn’t carry a wide enough selection of sizing for this to be possible. 

Smith was repeatedly told “moms don’t shop here” or “people who shop here are usually….smaller” when asking fitting room attendants about bigger fitting rooms so she could try clothes on with her newborn stroller in toe. Frustrated and defeated, Smith sought comfort talking with her friends and family to which she discovered they too had faced these same challenges.

Specifically, conversations about how modern retailers didn’t care about real women constantly stood out to Smith. It was eye-opening that modern clothing stores made it extremely difficult for women to wear the clothes they love. 

But, change is inevitable. Smith became overwhelmingly frustrated that women were being held back by life events they couldn’t control — whether their bodies changed due to medical conditions, lifestyle changes or just common aging. 

Journeylane Clothing embraces women’s differences and accepts all forms of beauty. Its size-inclusive styles ensure that women can continue to wear the clothing they love no matter the changes their bodies endure.
